Funny Toothpick Dispenser: Meet the Little Figure That Hands You a Pick
The Pick a Boo! Toothpick Holder by Balvi is a small black plastic figure that keeps your toothpicks inside and offers one up when you lift its body. Set it on the table and it reads as a quirky little character; raise the top and a single toothpick rises into its hand, ready to take. It is the rare table accessory that does a real job and gives your guests something to talk about while it does it.
That is the whole trick, and it is a good one. Instead of a cup of picks that everyone digs into with their fingers, you get one clean pick at a time, offered with a bit of theater. The figure has a slightly spooky, storybook silhouette, so it slides right onto a Halloween table — and it earns its place all year at game nights, holiday dinners and any gathering where people linger after the plates are cleared.
What Makes This Toothpick Holder Worth a Spot on the Table
- One pick, zero fumbling: raise the body and a toothpick lifts into the figure's hand, so nobody has to fish around in a crowded cup.
- Hygienic by design: you take the pick that is offered and leave the rest untouched, which keeps the stack clean for the next person.
- Easy refilling: you can refill it easily.
- No buttons or batteries: a simple up-and-down motion does all the work, so it is always ready when the table is.
- Small but sturdy: durable plastic, 3.07 inches long, 1.42 inches wide and 3.5 inches tall, at roughly 6 ounces — compact enough to sit beside the centerpiece without crowding it.
Who It Makes a Great Gift For
Buy it for the friend whose dinner parties always end with everyone still at the table. Hosts, home cooks and serial entertainers will appreciate a gadget that handles toothpicks without them having to think about it, and anyone who likes their table settings a little offbeat will enjoy the reveal every single time. It works as a hostess gift, a housewarming present, a white-elephant swap, or a small extra for a Secret Santa who is hard to shop for.
It is also a natural fit for Halloween tables: the little black figure has just enough creepiness to match a spooky spread, and it keeps working at Thanksgiving, Christmas and birthday dinners long after the pumpkins are packed away. Game-night hosts get the most out of it — nothing breaks the ice faster than a figure that quietly hands someone a toothpick.
What to Know Before You Buy
Honest expectations, so there are no surprises at the table. It is molded in plastic and comes in black only, so if you were picturing a heavy ceramic or wood piece, this is lighter and more playful than that. It is also genuinely small: about 3 inches by 1.4 inches across and 3.5 inches tall, which suits a dinner table rather than a big buffet station, so check the space you have in mind. And the picks only appear with a lift — the motion is part of the fun, not an automatic dispenser, so expect guests to reach over and try it themselves, which is rather the point.
Picture it at the center of your next dinner: a guest lifts the figure, a toothpick appears, someone laughs, and the next person has to try it too. If that sounds like the table you want to set, this little character is ready to take its place — and it already has a spot waiting on your Halloween table.
